In Search of Alternative Medicine

In search of Alternative medicine in the East. Is it medical tourism or simply an exodus of patients tired of the system here? What is on the other side is rather disappointing too particularly to those who have resorted to Ayurvedic treatment for generations. Hasty diagnosis, less qualified assistants, pills rather than kashayams and arishtams, lack of proper treatment schedules are dished out to the ignorant tourists who fall for the ambience of ancient architecture, swimming pools, fancy food, therapies ranging from aroma, chakra and colour, astrology charts and sightseeing tours as part of the package. Whatever happened to the true chikeetsa that prevailed until the 80s? Gone, as they have fallen prey to foreign currency and greed! Did we not read that in Kaliyuga, the bull of Dharma has only one leg left!
