The Two Faces of Religious Movements in India

Countries outside of India have a free hand in supporting preachers and institutions with funds to mess up the minds of the poor and the uneducated. If that is not enough, popular gurus, ammas, swamis and babas are tearing up bonds within families and draining their hard-earned finances. The irony here is the two faces that these movements represent. The other larger, smiling face that the general public and the media sees is the one famous for doing obviously so-called " good works". So the funds keep coming, the upper strata of the guilty affluent keep supporting, the middle stays complacent in their daily routine while the poor and the uneducated, burdened by life, lose their capacity to think for themselves.
